Part Qualified Accountant

Shepperton, Surrey, with some days at the West Horsley office
£32,000 to £40,000 per year depending on experience and study package, plus company pension

Recruitment for this role is handled by Beagle HR Ltd on behalf of an established independent accountancy practice in Surrey, with offices in Shepperton and West Horsley and a team of around twenty, working with owner managed businesses across a broad range of sectors.

The role

You will prepare work across the whole compliance cycle for a varied client base, rather than being parked in one department. To begin with a manager reviews your work and fronts the client, and more of the client contact comes your way as you find your feet. If you want to qualify and see every part of the job while you do it, this is the place.

What you will be doing

• Bookkeeping, including getting messy records into order
• VAT returns
• Management accounts
• Year end accounts preparation
• Corporation tax and self assessment returns
• Setting new clients up on the systems
• Raising queries with clients and the team

What we are looking for

• At least two years in a UK accountancy practice
• Part qualified ACCA, or AAT Level 3 or 4 and keen to go on to ACCA
• The ambition to qualify. You do not need to have managed anyone, and this is not a team leader role
• Confidence with cloud accounting software. Xero is a bonus
• A full driving licence and your own car

How the salary works

The top of the range is for candidates already working in an accountancy practice who are a couple of exams away from qualifying. Where you start also depends on your study package: if the practice funds your course and exam fees in full, you will start at the lower end of the range. If you are funding your own studies, this will be taken into account in the salary offered.

Good to know before you apply

Neither office is well served by public transport and you will spend some days at West Horsley, so a car is essential. Please check the journey before applying. The role is five days a week in the office.
