What is the Beagle HR Club? It is HR support for small UK employers at £99 a month + VAT: one hour of consultant time every month (which rolls over if you do not use it), the full Beagle HR document and template library, a weekly employer email, a monthly webinar, a quarterly surgery, an annual health check, and a named Surrey-based consultant rather than a call centre. Membership rolls monthly with one month’s notice.

How your hour works

Every month you get one hour of consultant time to spend however you like: phone, email, video or face to face. Contracts, recruitment, performance, absence, conduct, disciplinaries, grievances, letters, law changes, coaching your managers. It is your hour. Here is what makes it different.

Roll it over

Quiet month? Nothing wasted.

Unused time banks indefinitely while your membership is active. Three calm months in a row means three hours ready for the week everything happens at once.

Borrow ahead

Busy month? Draw on the next one.

A disciplinary will not wait for the first of the month. Members can draw on future months’ hours at no extra cost, so the help arrives when the problem does.

Fair extra time

Never pay call-centre rates.

If you use up your banked and borrowed hours, extra time is charged at the member rate of £95/hr + VAT, billed in 15-minute increments. That is £30 off our standard £125/hr rate. No surprises on the invoice.

Our standard ad-hoc rate
£125/hr + VAT
What non-members pay, billed in 15-minute increments.
HR Club members
£95/hr + VAT
24% off the standard rate, still billed by the quarter hour. A 20-minute call costs you 30 minutes, not 60.

What’s included

One membership, everything below. No tiers, no add-ons, no upsell halfway through a crisis.

One hour of consultant time, every month

Spend it on whatever your business needs: contracts and handbooks, recruitment, performance, absence and conduct, disciplinaries and grievances, letters and documents, employment law changes, or coaching your managers. By phone, email, video or face to face.

The full document and template library

Contracts, letters, policies and forms, all written by us and updated when the law changes, so your paperwork never quietly goes out of date.

Weekly employer email

What changed this week and what to do about it, in plain English. Two minutes to read, written for owners, not lawyers.

Monthly live webinar

A practical session on one topic that matters to small employers, with open Q&A at the end. Ask anything.

Quarterly online HR surgery

Bring any staff issue that is bothering you and leave with a plan. Not clocked against your hour.

Annual HR health check

Once a year we review your contracts and handbook, tell you what is fine, what is risky and what to fix first.

A named consultant who knows you

Based in Surrey, not a call centre or a ticket queue. The same person, who knows your business and your people, every time.

Your three options

When a staff problem lands, most owners of small firms do one of three things. Here is how they compare.

Doing it yourself A typical HR helpline The HR Club
Who answers Google, a template site and hope Whoever picks up at the call centre A named local consultant who knows your business
What the advice aims at Whatever the forum said in 2021 Protecting the insurer, so the safest possible script Getting you, the employer, the outcome you want, lawfully
Documents Free downloads of unknown age Generic packs, rarely tailored A full library, kept current when the law changes
Contract None, and it shows Often 3 to 5 years, hard to leave Rolling monthly, one month’s notice
Extra time cost Your evenings and weekends Around £150/hr, billed by the hour £95/hr + VAT, billed by the quarter hour

Some helplines also sell tribunal insurance wrapped into those long contracts. Before you pay for that, read the truth about tribunal insurance: there is a good chance your business insurance already covers it.

One price, no small print

Rolling monthly by direct debit. Cancel with one month’s notice. No long contract, no joining fee.

Outgrowing the Club

Past about 10 staff, the issues come faster and hit harder, and an hour a month stops being enough. When you get there, Club members move to a retainer and the current month’s Club fee comes off the first retainer invoice. Growing out of us is the plan, not a penalty.

Questions owners ask us

Straight answers, before you part with a penny.

Yes. Membership rolls monthly and you can cancel with one month’s notice. There is no tie-in, no minimum term and no exit fee. If we are not useful, you should not be paying us.

It banks, and it keeps banking for as long as you are a member. Quiet months build you a reserve for the month when someone resigns, goes off sick and raises a grievance in the same week.

Calls, emails that need real work, and document drafting are clocked against your hour, in 15-minute increments. Quick clarifications are not. We are not the sort of firm that starts a timer when you say hello.

No. It is advice from a consultant, which is exactly why it is useful. Insurance-backed helplines have to protect the policy first, so the advice tends to be the most cautious option available. Ours starts from what you want to happen and finds the lawful way to get there.

UK employers with roughly 1 to 10 staff. If your team is bigger than that, a retainer will usually fit you better, and we will say so on a quick call rather than sell you the wrong thing.
