Citation has a pricing page but does not publish figures on it, so the honest answer is that you cannot compare headline prices. Beagle HR publishes fixed starting prices, with retained support from £249 per month. What matters more than the monthly figure is the total commitment: work out the monthly fee multiplied by the full contract term, then add the published annual uplift of the greater of 3% or RPI, and compare that number.
How long is a Citation contract?
Citation does not publish a standard initial term. Its published terms and conditions (clause 2(a)(i), for subscription services with a term of at least twelve months) say the contract renews automatically for further periods equal to the initial subscription term unless either party gives written notice at least six months before the end of it. So a five-year contract renews into another five years. In the Competition and Markets Authority’s 2016 decision on Peninsula’s acquisition of Croner, third parties told the CMA that contracts in this sector typically last between three and ten years. Ask for the term in writing before you sign anything.
Can I switch from Citation to Beagle HR?
